Class of 1957

Welcome to the Class of 1957 Web Page

September 2007

Hi Everyonel

28 Classmates and 17 spouses/guests attended our 50th Class Reunion on August 10* and 11*.
We enjoyed a fabulous meal at the University Club and had a very good time. If you didn't come you
missed a really great evening! Just ask anyone who attended. There were classmates from 11 states!

The committee worked together to make it a fun night. Jim got the evening going as MC with a
reminiscence of bow it was back in 1957. Bonnie and Joe F. helped us remember our deceased classmates
by lighting a candle for each one. Liz gave an enlightening historical presentation that began with the ·life
of Chief Okemos (yes, he was real) and brought us through graduation. She also put together a CD with
pictures and music, this is"being sent to you through the kindness of Mary Ellen.

Bill made lots of phone calls trying to coax more classmates to attend. He and Ann also took care of the
cash flow. Marilyn and Jo put together picture pages ofpast reunions for us to enjoy. Kim did some
detective work to find 'lost' classmates. The Memory Books were created by Alice's daughter, Cortney,
with Alice as Editor. It was good to have Jim Whitmore on the committee this time. He made many a long
trip from Mullett Lake to Lansing for the meetings.

On Saturday morning we had a wonderful Brunch at Mary Ellen's house. The food was great and
the indoor pool with waterfall and surrounding patio lent a pleasant atmosphere to the gathering. Many
thanks to Mary Ellen and Tom for opening their home to us.

At 1 p.m. we toured our old high school. It is now the Administration Building and it has changed
some on the inside, with partitions, etc. Later in the afternoon was the Alumni picnic. There were about 130
in attendance. It was a good thing everyone wore a name tag!
